Polynucleotides - the new era of Aesthetic Medicine

We had excitement at the Clinic & Training Academy this week - Croma representative Gail paid us a visit to deliver a thorough rundown on their very popular Polynucleotide skin booster range: Philart and Philart Eye.

We’re please to say we have a range of Philart products for you to try for a variety of aesthetic concerns. First we learned about Philart Eye, which as you may have guessed, is a specialised injectable for safe use around the eyes. I found this product to be great for boosting the skin within the tear trough and crow’s feet areas. Philart helps to tighten skin sagging around the eyes and reduces superficial lines, that may be challenging to address with other aesthetic treatments, giving an overall refreshed look.

Next we moved on to the main Polynucleotide product, Philart. This can be used almost anywhere including the face, forehead, cheeks, neck and back of the hands. I found it interesting to learn that this product also has great effects on improving acne scarring.

How do they work?

The purpose of Polynucleotides is to encourage cell regeneration and increase the number of fibroblasts within the skin. The treatment is suitable for all ages and skin types and can help rejuvenate the skin giving more of a radiant glow to the overall complexion of the skin.

When polynucleotides are injected into the skin, they stimulate the production of collagen to help improve the texture of the skin. Polynucleotides also enhance the skin's ability to retain moisture and therefore hydrate your skin.

What does the treatment entail?

The treatment consists of intradermal injections at the target area. For comfort we ensure to use a numbing base cream before treatment and can always top-up with this if needed. The treatment will last roughly around an hour. Side effects are usually minimal but can include bleeding, bruising, redness and swelling.

Polynucleotides can be used as a standalone treatment however are recommended as a course of three sessions, two weeks apart, then maintenance treatments as often as you think you need. A session is charged at £250 but you can pre-book a course of three treatments for only £600.
