Who we are

We are a professional Medical Aesthetics Clinic and Training Academy based in Aberdeen. We provide our treatments within HIS-inspected clinical premises, using high-quality, approved materials from market-leading brands. We are Aberdeen’s leading provider of professional Aesthetic Training Courses. The service is holistic combining injectables like botulinum-based treatments (prescription-only), a range of dermal filler procedures, fat dissolving, thread lifting, as well as topical and device therapies for skin rejuvenation.

Directors

Dr. Hassan Abbas [MBChB, BSc(Hons), MRCP] has diverse Medical experience in secondary care, spanning 13 years, including 4 years of Clinical Research. Very enthusiastic about Teaching and Training, he has experience delivering this at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in academic and NHS clinical settings. Besides Medical Aesthetics, he is also a Consultant in Cardiology and General Internal Medicine.

Dr. Abbas set up Hourglass Aesthetics Ltd in 2017, as Director and Aesthetic Practitioner. His vision for Hourglass Aesthetics is to progressively diversify its services, developing a clinic reputable for safe practice and high quality treatments. He is a member of the Aesthetics Complications Expert (ACE) Group and has full indemnity cover by Cosmetic Insure (London). Realising a void for high quality aesthetics training in the North East of Scotland, he launched Hourglass Aesthetics’ training arm in 2019, deploying a range of accredited botulinum and dermal filler courses, and a series of professional services to directly improve aesthetics practice standards.

The service has rapidly grown in size and reputation since its founding. To meet increasing demand, Dr. Abbas has been joined by several experienced Practitioners since 2021. In 2023, after years of practice within dental clinics, Hourglass Aesthetics launched its independent 4-storey Clinic and Training Academy at the heart of Aberdeen City Centre.
